Mangawhai free summer bus

The Mangawhai free summer bus was initially trialled in 2019/2020 to help reduce traffic and ease carparking pressures at local hotspots over summer.

This is the sixth year the service has run, and when compared to first season, where the bus ran for 16 days, passenger numbers over the same period have increased by 194%. A total of 6,286 individual trips were recorded in the whole 2024/25 season (49 days).

This year, the free summer bus ran daily from 27 December 2024 - 9 February 2025, as well as Easter Weekend, 18-21 April.
